GREAT NEWS!!!

Apparently Adebyewhore is tomorrow having a meeting to determine whether the player can be awarded a work permit.

Mark Hughes has today confirmed to reporters that Man City were in discussions with Arsenal over a move for the Togolese, with reports yesterday suggesting that a bid of £22million had been prepared, with the Eastlands outfit prepared to offer the player £170,000 a week in wages – double what he is reported to earn at Arsenal.

What can i say? I have never been his biggest fan and people on the forum will tell you that i wanted him sold last summer.

When Adebayor is sold i dont feel we need to go out and sign a striker, we have more then enuff cover and maybe now we can see Arshavin playing in the middle behind RVP?

I just hope that Wenger spends the reported £22m on a much needed DM partner for Cesc…

  1. Arthur says:

why does he need a work permit? any ideas

  2. Tossers says:

Will you be moaning about not being able to get a replacement within the week?

Adebayor’s treatment by Arsenal “supporters” has been disgusting.

    • IRISHGOONER says:

I completly agree. I never thought that our fans would hate one of our own players more than some of our rival players. Adebayor even came out to say that he never said a thing about leaving. Anytime a club comes in asking about a player the media pickup on it and look for quotes that are not in the same context. Its time some of you examine the facts before you post these silly remarks on the net. have some responsibilty for your club as one post can start a chain reaction of bullshit and rumours.

    • j says:

Adebayor was a hero at the club, until he openly courted the attention of Milan last summer. One moment professing loyalty to the club that made him, the next sentence(literally) completely contradicting that statement.
Adebayor has got everything that he deserves, he’s brought it all on to himself by his own actions.

  3. Marv Tha' Gooner says:

Goodbye, farewell an all that. Maybe a part exchange with Micah Richards is on the cards?

    Oh! 1st?

  4. Marv Tha' Gooner says:

It’s unfair to blame the fans. Had he kept his mouth shut and just let the agents work on transfers it would had been cool.

He should had been more thoughtful of his team mates and the fans.

    Dang! 2nd d’oh!

  5. Greek Gooner says:

Take your bullshit control , your unbearable offsides and your stupid gangsta clothes back to Manchester where they belong. Enjoy Europa league football , you’ll love it 😛
Bye Bye Ade, bye byeeeee 😀

  6. faithnomore says:

    brilliant
but it proves we need to sell to buy

  7. South Yorkshire Gunner says:

    It’s great news…

    Get shut of Eboue next!

  8. Alex says:

    Hi,

I’m just as happy as you mate and think too that we have enough lads in attack but we’re after chamakh and it’s nearly certain we sign him if so I would like to see silvestre + money = chamakh. Rest of the cash of course on DM.

  9. -dean says:

    I really dislike this blog.

It’s full of hate, bad spelling, child-like grammar, idiotic opinions and wild speculation dressed as news.

Everything that is bad about Arsenal blogging can be found here.

    • South Yorkshire Gunner says:

      A die hard supporter eh?

If its lazy or not good enough or just doesn’t want to be here then get shut.

If your wife was an ugly lazy dog (which I’m sure she isn’t), or she didn’t want to be with you (which I’m sure she does not), then I’m sure you’d get shut..

Adebayor’s good enough – Just lazy and doesn’t want to be here.

Silvestre isn’t good enough; eboue is a liability and nowhere near good enough for a regular starting berth as are Diaby and Song.

There’s no idiotic opinion or wild speculation – It’s true.

  10. mR heaveN says:

wtf? what about adebaya’s treatment towards the supporters???
He was openly flirting with other clubs… thats not the way to behave. So he deserves every bit of negative treatmentment by the fans.
    I don’t care about him.

  11. MistaKen says:

Only one thing for it. Go get Huntelaar now! He will score 20-25 goals in his first season

  12. LB says:

This doesn’t prove that we need to sell to buy. We have the money as the accounts prove, for those who can read statements. What it does prove is that for the first time ever, Wenger really grew to dislike him. He has NEVER been so keen to get rid of a senior player before that he sells to an EPL club. Chamakh is not the best, but he has great movement, a left foot, a good work ethic, is a better passer and far less of an ego.

  13. kenneth says:

great cheering news. Next out? diaby, silvestre, senderos, denilson

  14. nicky says:

Forget another striker OR another midfielder….Let’s start a movement
    BRING FLAMINI HOME.

  15. mR heaveN says:

leave denilson alone man. he did well last season.

  16. highberries says:

Nice to see a bit of thought to Hartson on here…..he certainly did his bit for the Arsenal and hope he beats his latest battle that his got on his hands. As for the Ade’s work permit, apparently the home office brought in a new rule last year where you have to understand the offside rule to work here!

  17. Boris Godunov says:

Selling Ade is almost as good as was the signing of Arshavin. What a good thing.., what a good thing! Eboue, in comparison to him, was like Zidane to us. What a twat. He reminds me of Rivaldo, good skills but shitty character and attitude, that’s why he switched so many clubs and was mostly on bench. I hope he too ends up in the Uzbek League.

  18. Stu says:

I am delighted to say the least. Not that he is potentially joining a club in our league but that he wont infect our club anymore. He has caused problems everywhere he has been and now he is Sparkeys problem. Good luck with that btw.

And to those why hate this blog. I dont agree but it aint the best. But if ye hate it so much then why the fuck do ye keep coming on here If you hate something stay away from it. Its that simple.

  19. stephen says:

The only reason he did not go a year ago was he could not find a club to meet his massive wage demands, he has never been committed to the club.

  20. pene says:

I definetely think next year will be better than las year.

  21. me and ur mum says:

this article again is shid we shouldnt sell adebayor to replace him with a man whos scored 13 goals this season. In 200 apperances chamahk has scored 50 goals. in 100 apperances adebayor has scored 49 goals so why replace adebayor with somone who is not as good as him sell ade buy eto

    • j says:

Chamahk is not your conventional CF, he plays a more withdrawn role. That would explain his goal scoring record.

Lets look at this logically, the fact that Wenger has hardly been infused about keeping adebayor, that he is prepared to sell him to what is being touted as a rival, that tells you everything you really need to know about adebayor. Good player when he is motivated, but his mind has been shot to pieces by greed and vanity.

  22. do one ade bye your lazy arse is not wanted says:

Hopefully one down now lets get rid of silvestre, senderos, fabianski and bendtner but who else would want to buy them – villareal gave us 2mil for cygan anybody else stupid enough? Give eboue and diaby another season we need them as squad players. Buy huntelaar and alonso and we`ll win the league oh and wenger please get better cover for almunia!

  23. Aeoric says:

Nothing to do with racism. I wish people wouldn’t use that positive discrimination bullsh*t all the time.

If he’s crap, he’s crap. Doesn’t matter if he’s white, black, blue, purple or orange. The fact is his goals to chances ratio stinks, when one-on-one with a praying mantis larvae in goal, he manages to hit the mantis or row-Z much more often than putting the ball in the net. He traps the ball further than I can kick it and for an ‘international’ striker, has the worst spatial appreciation of what constitutes ‘offside’ of anyone since Stevie Wonder last slept in a sensory deprivation tank.

Eboue (whilst slightly better technically) has an similar work ethic (i.e. none) and has the worst attitude and personality of anyone I’ve seen in an Arsenal shirt. Constantly diving, cheating the ref, falling over, only looking for AdeBarnDoor as an outlet for his pass. He’s not a right back, he’s not a right winger, he’s not a central midfielder – so he’s an average player keeping better players (who actually know how to play those positions) out of the team because he’s another of Wenger’s beloved. Same went for Hleb & Cygan if the positive discrimination crew are counting.

Sorry – I am one of many who would be very very very happy to see that back of that pair, if we can bring Micah Richards in as part of the Ade deal – great, or (very unlikely) Stephen Ireland.

City are taking a very unsubtle approach to unsettle players and squads amongst the big4. Buying Adebeyor (lol), John Terry, Tevez from Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd would appear to ‘weaken’ their rivals and strengthen their own credentials. It’s a statement of intent (none of you can be sure your squad is impervious to having their heads turned by City). And ofc – they are all players that are proven in the EPL.

Funnily though – losing Ade will help us. Whereas losing Terry would definitely hurt Chelsea, and losing Tevez (after losing Ronaldo) will also hurt ManUtd.

I wonder if Wenger and Gazidis can extort some more arabian money for the privilege of having Diaby, Eboue & Silvestre on their books too.

  24. Roquentin says:

Adebayor is lazy and overrated, and I would love it, love it, I tell ya, if he goes. 😉 Enough about him, though. I have never understood why some Arsenal supporters don’t like Eboue. He’s had a few bad games, so what, who doesn’t? I don’t see any particular reason to single him out for blame. The same goes for Diaby, whom I happen to think will do very well this season. The only thing he needs is consistency, but otherwise he’s got both great technique and raw strength in abundance. I don’t think we need a DM as much as we need a rock solid central defender who has a proven track record in the EPL. Hangeland fits the bill. Lescott or Richards are also good prospects. We need a defence that can stand up against aerial bombardments from the likes of Stoke City. Offensively, we are more than ok, we look positively brilliant in that department. Just shore up the defence, and we’ll challenge for sure.

  25. matt stewart says:

Adybarndoor once said that that Milan are like Beyonce, well now he’s got her fat, pie eating northern half sister. Good luck and good riddance i say. Irish got to say it mate you must be blind. Last season he was flirting with anyone that looked at him. He was lazy and his grasp of the offside trap is at Hackney Marshes level’s. He will be no loss to us and to think City could have bought a real centre forward, who would have been much more dangerous.

  26. shanders says:

every big club in the world wants him, arsenal have him but dont, what a load of rubbish.

we need a replacement, every1 else in the team would get blown over by the wind and are shorter then mini-me’s grandmother

    arsenalaction = bull$hit !!

  27. Manu says:

Sad to say, but Ade was a toxic non-teamplayer for Arsenal. Arsenal’s style thrives on team effort and his arrogant treatment of other players plus laziness while being one of the highest paid players almost cost us RvP this summer. Anyday, if I had to choose, it would always be Robin over Ade – and AW has done just that. Ade’s 30 goals in 08 came only as a result of Top Gun RVP being crocked and upon return, Ade rubbed his now-superior ranking (as evidenced by his being paid more then RVP) in Robin’s face. Real good riddance, I say. This is all about keeping the team together as AW promised. Arsernal will win nothing with holier-than-thou strikers (remember Henry’s last season?). Only teamplayers need apply!

  28. Laron says:

our prayers havge finally been heard from the god of footy! dont get me wrong the guy is actually good and has his obvious advantages but packs them in the disadvantage box! greed, pride, bad pr, lack of commitment etc. i think we’ll do just fine without him and if ros7 and ed9 are actually back then i do agree with wenger that they’ll be like new signings if they keep fit!

    arsennal 4 lyf

  29. arsenal passion says:

I have never in my supporting Arsenal life ever wanted a player to leave. But this is different, He (Adebayor) is useless, I always feel we were playing with 10 men when he was in the team. So fingers crossed and all goes well tomorrow. We’ll be praying.

  30. alsagooner says:

I could care less about his comments in the press last year. You never really know what was said and by who?

The real issue has been his performances on the pitch. Yeh I know he’s got a great strike rate, but so did Andy Cole years back. Any striker that needs six chances to score will never be good enough for the Arsenal.

  31. Popi says:

Lets not jump the gun. He hasn’t gone yet. I would not be suprised if he declines the move and pledges his future with us in a bid to make us love him again. Make no mistake I want shot of him but do not be shocked if this transfer doesn’t go through.

  32. Andrew says:

I think he needs a works permit cos he’s not part of the EU and is going to work for a new employer

  33. goonergerry says:

Adebayor gone- I hope we can buy a replacement- but I know we can’t afford to compete.

  34. nicky says:

    BRING BACK THE FLAMSTER!

  35. borngooner says:

finally smethin seems to be takin place

hey some of city friends say dat the deal will be around 18-20mil + kompany / richards . wenger seems to be in favour of kompany as he ha sbeenaftr da belgian 4 quite sme time ……..

    so lets hope da best

  36. woody says:

stop harping on for flamini. he had ONE good season, and then flew off cos he wanted silly money, only to find he cant hold down a regular spot. FFS

  37. Austinejuma says:

Ade leavin is jus a quick fix 2 our probs when da real prob lies wit 2 many kids n lack of playas who stand out lyk in da past when we had da lyks of pires, viera, wiltord, freddy, overmars bergkamp etc.Mayb wenger is da prob.

    • Dan says:

Peolple still slagged of that team at times even TH14 and DB10 who we will never replace. The fans that call our players lazy are the same one’s that can’t be bothered to even sing and get behind the team. Face facts The Arsenal can’t attract top players anymore because we can’t compete with the money of others so we have no choice but to develop our own stars as frustrating as it may be. Our problem is keeping the kids we turn into good players and stop being a shop window for others. Every season we only try to replace what we’ve lost. we should have strenghened by getting 1 quality player every season instead of letting the team grow old and starting from scratch.

  38. Honest says:

Agreed, F*** the C***. Go Ade, you b*******

  39. SeanyBoy says:

I’d love us to bring Flamini back home. His work ethic and determination are exactly what we are missing in our team.

  40. Russ says:

No way should be bring back Flamini. He totally fucked us over and we’d still have Diarra in our midfield if it wasn’t for him. Too right Woody – he had 1 good season and was totally slated by our ‘fans’ before then! I won’t miss Adebayor. Interesting reading all the forums discussing possible replacement for Adebayor as no one has mentioned Jay Simpson. Could he get his chance this season?

  41. lawro says:

I HOPE ADE DONT SCORE THE WINNERS WHEN WE REACH THEM CITEH twice we should of sold for more this deal is not about ade this deal is arsenal being disrespect by citeh mark my words they will soon for someone else dont be shock ift they next for arshavin watch this space joke business we done

  42. Dan says:

Arsenal should have got Anelka back ages ago as he fits in perfectly with our style of play with his pace and has proved he can be top scorer in the Prem. He’s way better than Ade and closest we had to TH14 but it’s too late now!
Flamini let 1 good season go to his head and got greedy, sounds familiar doesn’t it! Players know Arsenal can’t afford the wages of Real Madrid so don’t come and sign a contract with us and moan after. Simples!!
