Arsenal handed Celtic challenge

Last season’s semifinalists Arsenal must overcome Celtic if they are to return to the UEFA Champions League group stage following the draw for the play-off round in Nyon.

  • Olympique Lyonnais (FRA) Vs RSC Anderlecht (BEL)
  • Celtic FC (SCO) Vs Arsenal FC (ENG)
  • FC Timişoara (ROU) Vs VfB Stuttgart (GER)
  • Sporting Clube de Portugal (POR) Vs ACF Fiorentina (ITA)
  • Panathinaikos FC (GRE) Vs Club Atlético de Madrid (ESP)

The play-offs are played over two legs on 18/19 and 25/26 August with the ten winners joining the draw for the UEFA Champions League group stage, which takes place in Monaco on 27 August. The losers will automatically drop into the inaugural UEFA Europa League group stage.

Celtic Vs Arsenal
Very tough draw for the gunners, Celtic looked very good in pre season vs Spurs and in the champions league.  The plus point from the gunners in that the 2nd leg is at home.
Sould be a good game, Loads of history and players who have played for both clubs, John Hartson,Charlie Nicholas, Ian Wright, Martin Hayse.
Didnt want the draw but Im now looking forward to it….

It is the draw that I as a Hoops fan wanted. We have not met in European competition ever and this has excited the Celtic support.

hail hail and up the Gunners
