fawlty manuel strikes again…..

Birmingham substitute Kevin Phillips scored a stoppage-time equaliser as Arsenal’s title challenge was blown off course in a bruising encounter.

After a dull first half that finished 0-0 Wenger made a double change with Nasri and

in the 81 minutes Nasri scored a goal of real quality. He picked up the ball 40 yards out and charged to the edge of the box before unleashing a right-footed strike into the far corner.

In the last few mins with Birmingham pushing for an equaliser, gaps were opening up at the back and Nasri should have made it 2-0 but missed when one on one with Hart.

But the Gunners paid the ultimate penalty as a Hart free-kick was only half-cleared allowing Craig Garder to clip the ball back into the box for Kevin Phillips to poke it towards goal and through Almunia’s hands for a dramatic late equaliser.

  1. VanDaManPersie says:

    I disagree with your Ratings.

    Almunia (-2).
Song should at least be a (7).
Fabregas (6.5) even though he was below his own standards.

The rest i cannot argue with

  2. BJOHNSON says:

CAN YOU EXPLAIN (1) WHY YOU GAVE WALCOTT A 7 (WHEN HE WAS CRAP AS USUAL (2) WHY BENDTNER AT 6.5 HAS A POOR RATING AND WALCOTT AT 7 DOES NOT HAVE A POOR RATING.

  3. daz says:

    Walcott was f**king SHITE!

  4. geoffreid says:

wegners fault should have bought in january – and we would not be having these problems – see denilson playing and nasri on bench great choices by our manager even arshavin on bench – no wonder players want to leave.

  5. petrovic says:

Perhaps wenger should just forget about his brand of total football until he really really sort out the defence..especially the keeper. As it is now, the team seems to rely of ‘luck’ against injuries…especially the CBs. But then, arsene wenger is already famous for not willing to pay for top class players.

  6. gaya says:

very easy to blame the keeper. too too easy.
what happened to Nasri’s one on one with the keeper, why the cut back. why cant you question Arsene’s line up. if he thot this game was so important why not start with ur best, wrap it up and give players a rest. All the same, we will keep going

  7. deano says:

Im more surprised Almunia managed a 2! He is hopeless!
Which goalkeeper in premiership WOULDNT you swap him for? bet theres not many!!!!

  8. rff says:

arshavin fucked it up again, shud have put us 2 nil up to be home and dry and misses a sitter from 8 yards, week in week out this happens

  9. Almunia isn’t a goalkeeper: fact! It’s impossibile play with him fot these seasons! Incredible…….. The “Blond Clown” strikes again: rubbish…
You’re right, with a clown like him isn’t impossible win anything: third place and stop.

Right also the Fabregas’ rating: he didn’t give a good pass.

  10. ARSENE WENGER says:

HOW DID YOU GIVE THEO BETTER RATINGS THAN CESC, THE BALL OF THE GAME PUT NASRI CLEAN THROUGH BUT THE GUY LOST HIS BOTTLE AND WENT LOOKING FOR A PASS, THEO IN MY OPINION GETS A 3, CESC GETS MAYBE A 6 BUT PROBABLY SHOULD HAVE GONE OFF INJURED

  11. iluvafc says:

I still stand by what I’ve said all along, disagree all you want, but the likes of Almunia, Denilson & Walcott would never be Arsenal quality. period. There is no sense of urgency from the players, and its really ironic to hear them telling the press how important it is to win every game & then stroking the ball aimlessly while on the pitch. Yes Cesc had a poor game, but where were the other players? Were they not wearing the same Arsenal jersey?
I’m not nearly as upset about the result as I am about the level of nonchalance shown by the players.
Next we’ll hear from AW & the players telling us to keep the faith, that our season is not over yet & we’ll still fight for the title. Then in the very next game Almunia will drop another ball into his own net.
Its already difficult for us seeing how all the referees support Manure & the Chavs have 22 world class players to choose from, we don’t need to shoot ourselves in the foot with clangers like Almunia.
Now all we can hope for is probably divine intervention.

  12. AfriX says:

Boris u r an idiot, last time I checked last week the same blacks kept a clean sheet, also please find another blog to spew yo racist rubbish!

  13. STILLGUNNER says:

Boris Godu-ass or whatever your name is, please leave blacks out of it, Arsenal is a respectable team we dont need racist fucks like yourself supporting our beloved team.
Poor display today, but i still love every single member of my team, Almunia sucks though.

  14. Rob K says:

I think even -2 is very generous for almunia

  15. daz says:

Boris fuck off you racist cunt!

  16. Russ says:

Sorry mate but Walcott a 7 you must be joking. He was terrible today – completely ineffectual and missed a good chance too. His crossing was awful too.

This game was heading for 0-0 or possibly a defeat until Wenger made the subs. We had a lucky escape when Brum hit the post but we just couldnt kill them off. Cesc was quiet but Brum are a solid team and always had 8-9 players behind the ball.

As for Almunia, I cant think of a team in the prem who have a worse goalkeeper than him. Fucking awful display.

I had this game down for a draw before KO as Brum are no mugs at home. Spurs, Utd, Chelsea, Man City all drew there and they’ve not lost at home since Sept.

Still gutted we threw 2 points away though.

  17. J.C says:

Boris you silly cunt! Go fuck off and support another team your waste of skin!
One of the great things about Arsenal and other EPL teams is the multicultural mix. Your Dad should’ve shot his load over your Mothers face, it wouldve saved us wasting time with your shite!

  18. Russ says:

forgot to add the ref Webb was dreadful today. Rightly booked Song but Clichy’s booking after was a joke. He then let Brum get away with 5 fouls worthy of a yellow before finally doing so. Carr was lucky to stay on for his foul on Arshavin too.

    I’m still fucking fuming!

  19. Yid says:

Your year isit arsenal? Dream on scum!!

  20. BJOHNSON says:

GEOFFREID – POINTLESS COMMENT! WE HAVE ENOUGH PLAYERS IN THE SQUAD AND THE LINE-UP TODAY WAS GOOD ENOUGH TO WIN THE GAME. THE PROBLEM WAS OUR PLAYERS WERE ON THE PITCH IN BODY HOWVEVER THEIR MINDS WERE AT THE BARCELONA GAME ON WEDNESDAY.

  21. pat shev says:

get rid of that clown of a goalie and his back up. Go out and buy a right keeper you penny pinching prick

  22. Curt.B says:

Diaby was excellent, he is looking really fantastic. With peroformances like that, he looks like he could become a truly world class attacking midfielder.

Exceptioanlly disappointing to conceded like that.

I’m completely let down my Arshavin again, he has really been very poor in recent weeks and has fucked up many goals.

  23. Curt.B says:

Sagna cleared the ball into the guys face. Fuck fate can be harsh, sometimes
