HOW CAN YOU STILL HAVE FAITH IN WENGER?

Written by a frustrated gooner.

Since 2005 Arsenal haven’t won a single trophy. the first 3 or 4 years I was fine with that. We moved too another stadium, didn’t have alot of money. Wenger had too break up the invincible and build up another team. But after 6 years I’m done with. I can’t stand a longer “In Wenger We Trust” quote. Because the truth is anyone who says it is clueless. How can you still trust a man who has fails too deliver time after time again.

How can you trust a man who let Flamini go and didn’t replace him? How can you trust a man who keeps playing Almunia who’s keeps costing us points time after time again? How can you trust a man who signs a Man Utd reject? How can you trust a man who knows nothing about tactics? How can you play against Barcelona and not man-mark Messi? How can you trust a man who keeps lying too his fans every summer? And so on.

I really still want too trust him, I really do but the truth is I’m done with him. I want him, gone as soon as possible. How can the board bring out news saying “We’re going too try extend his contract” When he obviously doesn’t deserve a new contract. The sad truth is ladies and gentleman is that Arsenal FC doesn’t care about trophies or having ambitions all they do care about is Money. The board couldn’t give a toss if we won a trophy or not as long as we qualify for the Champions League. It doesn’t matter if we finish 4th or 1th to them.

Now we’re going too probably sell Fabregas. I don’t blame him. How can you blame him when he sees his friends over at Barcelona win trophy after trophy and at Arsenal he doesn’t win a single one. I hope if we do sell him we will spend the money we get on him and sign a replacement? But will we? I don’t think so. It will kill Nasri’s development in the centre of the team. Bye Bye next season. “Hooray for 4th place!”

You can say too me I’m a C##t or twat I don’t care. You can be blind for the truth but I’m not. As long Wenger is in charge we won’t win a trophy. Because when the time comes he will f##k it up. Play youngsters in a tricky away game in the Fa Cup. Use silly tactics in the Champions League etc. 2 years ago I couldn’t believe I would have said this but the time has come….

WENGER OUT!

You were fine with 4 years without a trophy for reasons given by yourself but after 5 years you’ve totally flipped into this position? Ok mate, carry on.

  3. Kerstin says:

What about his friends in Arsenal?
OF COURSE WE CAN BLAME HIM!!
Everybody is talking about “we can’t blame him” “he’s to good for us” and so on… what the freak, he is who he is because of us. The only reason Barcelona wants him now (and not back then) is because of what he became in Arsenal. Maybe he doesn’t owe us anything, but we sure don’t ow him anything. He is not bigger than Arsenal (niether is Wenger), and when people say things like this it’s like we somehow make him out to be. He’s a smart kid, he knows that this past year is the first time since he came that Wenger even had a choice to spend money, if all he can give us is ONE year where we could at least try to compete with United and Chelsea, and not let Wenger do his thing this sumemr (IF he does) then he can freaking kiss my ass!!!
Blame Arsenal, Wenger… but at the end, it is up to Fabregas and if he doesn’t care enough to give more then one REAL year, bye bye.. have fun watching Barcelona play without him!

  4. yupa says:

    “to”

Anyway, your article seems somewhat contradictory. You say the board are content with finishing in the champions league, yet lay all the blame at Wengers feet. Do we need a complete reshuffle?

I’ll direct you to this oldish article

    http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premier_league/arsenal/article6796014.ece

This, to me, is the man we need in charge. To change it would spit in the face of all he’s done and is naive to think that right now anyone could do an awful lot better. It was a 10 year plan to riches when we moved here. The arrogance of some Arsenal fans astounds me. The general lack of respect for Arsene is even worse.

Cheers for everything Wenger, but enoughs enough…let someone else enjoy the fruits of your hardwork. if I didn’t love Arsenal so much I think I’d want Wenger to leave just to have some of you morons see how we’d cope.

  8. Hai says:

Yeah because if it wasn’t for Wenger Cesc would’ve been at the club til the end of his career. No wait if it wasn’t for Wenger Cesc would be coming through the ranks at Barca. We’re going to make approximately £30-40m profit on the guy and you want to slate Wenger.

Of course I’d rather not sell him, but if we have to. We can start fresh this summer.

Cesc out, 4-4-2 in. Eduardo might not be shit. Gourcoff could sign. It’s an exciting time to be a gunner, nervous yes, exciting too.

  9. James McKean says:

Clearly some of your concerns are well-founded, but that fact of the matter is that we come 3rd or 4th every year, behind Chelsea and Man Utd, both of whom who are (in the here and the now) both richer clubs than us.

In short this is exactly where a club such as ours are expected to come. Not a nice thought, I know, but there you go.

And you might not have noticed but no one man marks these days.

  10. Tak says:

Just royally embarrased yourself and your blog mate – I won’t insult you.

I will agree with you or disagree depending on how this summer goes – The summer will tell us how good Wenger really is, and it will tell us more about Wenger than the last 13 years ever will.

  11. Berg10 says:

I wouldn’t word it like you because you clearly have an anti-Wenger agenda and need to calm down and grow up a bit.

By all accounts, it looks like Cesc is off. If he goes now and isn’t replaced instantly with quality (Gerrard/Sneider) then I reckon Wenger should probably fall on his sword too.

If you build a team around one player, it helps if that player actually stays with said team. Cesc leaving sets Arsenal back five years. We didn’t buy a Vieira replacement because we were waiting for Fabregas to become the world class player he is today. He is central to the manager’s ‘project’ and without him, EVERYTHING Wenger has been working towards will colapse and he has to start again. If that’s the case, his hand should be forced to brng in some quality otherwise I just think it’s best to start with a new manager with fresh ideas and a different outlook.

  12. guy says:

i agree arsene whinger needs to be kicked out asap to save arsenal football club

    • B_live says:

Shutup u dirty C.U.N.T tottenham fan running this site

      • Arsene's Choreographic Muse says:

Actually, as it stands now, If I was a Tottenham fan who wanted to infiltrate and influence an Arsenal blog my agenda would be to promote Arsene at every turn. Tottenham fans, if they were smart, which in most cases is debatable, should desperately WANT Wenger to stay on at Arsenal and keep doing exactly what he’s doing and has been doing for 6 years now? Why would a Tottenham fan want anything to change? It’s kind of like when Christian Gross was in charge of the Tots. Did you honestly want Christian Gross to get the sack from Tots, or did you want him to stay on just as long as they would have him?

  13. Doublegooner says:

I’ve had a season ticket since the 60’s. Seen dire, bland & great times under both Graham & Wenger. Cesc leaving is just the inevitable probably a little earlier than expected.

I reckon Wenger’s past his sale by date in terms of buying the tactics, right players, rebuilding a team. The owners have a lot to answer for. Modern Stadium = Harvey Nichols with Ordinary players = Primark Stock

  14. Rob says:

I feel for those supporters that have to take out their mortgages to buy the most expensive season tickets in the whole world only to besold the future season after season. As I have always said, There is no difference between Wenger and Madoff!

    • Arsene's Choreographic Muse says:

Very astute observation. Exactly correct. It’s a massive swindle. The board and Arsene are singing from the same hymn book. It’s like this: the board want to run the club on the cheap, maximum return on minimum investment which means scraping the champion’s league spot each while making a profit in the transfer market. Big salaries are one thing, they’ll accept paying high salaries to inadequate players in exchange for not having the capital outlay it would require to actually purchase a proper squad of experienced proven world class winners. Wenger is on the same page with the board on this because he gets a big fat salary, he gets a big fat bonus for running the squad on the cheap. He gets full control over player purchases and sales. He gets to setup a training academy type environment where he can do what he likes to do: have fun with his young boys on thr training pitch doing beautiful artistic choreography with no pressure from the board, no squad full of world-beaters and egos to cause him difficulties. And then of course the board and Arsene have the perfect smokescreen under which to run this swindle: the so-called “self-sustaining financial model” which, like most obfuscations is completely opposite from the truth, namely, the financial model is designed to sustain and maximize THEIR wealth.

  15. Arsenal1 says:

Project youth has failed completely. Year on year we are lied to by Wenger saying he will add quality to the side if he finds that special talent. There ate plenty if players out there who can improve our side.

I don’t blame fabregas wanting to leave! It is wenger and the board who has cost us our prised asset. Diaby, Denilson and Song, is that really going to be a midfield to challenge to win the league?

To all you wenger in trust ‘didn’t see it’ people, open your eyes if u know what will be good for our club

  16. richard says:

Oh No, it appears that you Arsenal fans are about to implode. Step back and take a deep breath, there is life after Fabergas. That being said, it may not be the life that you had hoped for. Having gone through a similar meltdown when Ronaldo made the decision to go off to sunny Madrid, I awoke one day and realized that we are in 2nd place in the EPL and had a decent run in the CL. No question, life seems like all gloom and doom for the fans now that your best player is off to his childhood club, but it gets easier after a while, it really does.
The real challenge will be to attract the top players when you sell your best player by a country mile. Players will question if you are serious about winning the major trophies when you let your top player go. The fact that you haven’t won anything in 5 years also adds to that concern and lastly but very importantly, the fact that you don’t pay well all adds up to a tough time landing the best players to replace Cesc.

  17. afc25 says:

    How old are you? 10?

Lets say you have a point – and before I call you a C##t, twat’s too good for you – you want rid of our manager – who’s going to replace him?

In your universe Arsene is not good for Arsenal – then who would be better – realistically? Your mate Harry who spent over £ 140million on new players in 2-seasons and only just got 4th? Your bestest buddy Mourinho who has already signed at Real Madrid and enjoys his teams playing the worst football as well as spending the most money on transfers in the leagues he works in? What about Sven? Or maybe we should Tony back?

Or – you could point out – if you’re being fair of course, that Man Utd and the blue C##ts have stronger squads because they buy players with £ 700million debt or someone else’s money. Neither of them care about the long term, and neither should be allowed to trade in any industry let alone football. Support the double winners – they have loads of cash and they have a new manager every season – hope you’re happy.

The rest of us will be happy to support the greatest manager on this planet today, right now in fact, who happens to be at Arsenal. He at least can assure us of Champions League football every season, and gave us 3-opportunities of the title this season before injuries robbed us. Go to Fulham and support Cashley – i will cheer you all the way.

Me – I know Arsene is the only solution for Arsenal right now, and into the future. Paid for my season ticket again, and can’t wait to see who we sign – a Vermaelen who is an instant hit, or a Song who we’ll laugh at, and then be proud of later.

You can go and support Ballack and his mates like Terry.

  18. jon says:

I would be absolutely gutted if Wenger leaves or is fired. He is ruining your club and everyone outside of Le Arse knows it except you deluded cunts.

    COYS

    • Arsene's Choreographic Muse says:

Exactly right. Any Spuds fan who wants Wenger to no longer be the manager of Arsenal and wants a new board for Arsenal is not very intelligent. It’s like when Spuds had Christian Gross. No Gooner in his right mind wanted the Tiny Tots to say good-bye to Mr. Gross. He was our favorite Tots manager ever.

      • Arsene's Choreographic Muse says:

same thing with Juande, no Gooner wanted Juande to be cut loose. We all wanted Juande to just keep on doing what he was doing.

  19. indigoonerinksa says:

I’m so glad you wrote this piece. It just showed the difference in perception between you & a lot of sensible gooners out there. The comments section has just made made my day. I’m thrilled that a lot of Arsenal fans still understand that having taken this club from the small Highbury stadium to the Emirates, Wenger’s choices, though not always acceptable have always been made for Arsenal’s long term stability & success. We could have become a Leeds United. Fans like you should support Real Madrid, you’ll get what you want every year.Oh, without the trophies.

    • Arsene's Choreographic Muse says:

That’s exactly what they want you to believe, The money’s been tight and they’ve just been managing the finances incredibly prudently. But the fact of the matter is, all this time the money has been there and they could have been doing so so much more with it, but they’re all greedy and they’d all rather have the money for themselves than invest it in the squad. That’s the issue, the money is there and has been there. They’re just greedy and want it for themselves. You need to really get over this illusion that these people are anything other than greedy, unscrupulous, wealthy men whose obsession is to become wealthier and wealthier.

  20. Johnny says:

Yes get him out. Get him out of england.

  21. Gunner Young says:

    You’re blaming Wenger for everything.

How about blaming him for also signing Cesc and Flamini for nothing.
How about blaming him for the training ground and brand new stadium.
How about blaming him for a fine young squad.

Seriously do you think any manager can cope with around £350 million debt and still stay in the top 4 in the last 5 season? I trust Wenger because anybody with half a brain will realise that he has done an exceptional job under the circumstances. He has money to spend NOW because of his fine management in the past.

Cesc may go, which is sad for Arsenal and for Wenger. But i don’t blame Cesc, who has given Arsenal a superb 7 years. I don’t blame Wenger who has nutured him into a sparkling diamond. Give Wenger more time, he deserves our patience.

    • Darran Lancley says:

Totally agree with you mate! Wenger does SO much behind the scenes finance wise and many stay at Arsenal/Join Arsenal because of Arsene Wenger

To be fair we should just ignore the ‘Wenger Out’ Brigade. Theyve prob not been to watch a game anyway!

      In Arsene We Trust!

  22. jay says:

Great job taking us to a souless stadium where half the supporters only got on board when Wenger turned up .most are heading for the exit with ten minutes to go.The club has been going for 120 years, we survived before Wenger we will survive when he goes, and all the greedy shirt kissing turds who run off when someone offers them more dough

  23. GoonerC says:

God yeah, need to get rid of this guy, I mean he did buy Fabregas for £0 in the first place but if he dares sell him back to the biggest club in the world at a massive profit when he wants to leave then we really do have to get rid of him.

Also, you talk about how the board only cares about coming top 4 and not about a trophy – would you rather win the FA cup and come 5th or come 4th and get champs league? Champs league every time.

  24. jay says:

Are you happy entering a competition every year that we cant possibly win.the only chance we have got with our current squad of players is to win the odd fa cup or if a miracle happens the pl .Arsenal have always been winners not just also rans like the spuds

  25. James says:

Wenger and the board must seriously go back to the drawing board and start managing this club differently. They are clearly no longer interested in winning trophies. Perhaps it suits them to make more profit every year but what does it do to me who spend my money in supporting Arsenal?

  26. Barnet Gooner says:

Can you tell us when was last time arsenal board took dividend (aka your money making accusation)?

    • Arsene's Choreographic Muse says:

Fine, if you want to believe these wealthy men have only your and Arsenal’s best interests at heart then go straight ahead. That’s how it’s gotten to this point. Even though you want to believe in these noble ideals, it’s not the case. They’re wealthy men who became wealthy and sustain and maximize their wealth by being unscrupulous. Wenger is on the same page with it because he likes his fat salary and his fat bonus for running the squad on the cheap. He likes having total control over player purchases and sales. He likes being able to setup a training academy type of setup where he can do what he loves to do: work on beautiful artistic choreography on the pitch with his young boys. No pressure, no tension. He like all of those things more than he likes winning trophies. The board like profit more than winning trophies. It’s very simple.

  27. Goonz N Roses says:

What a moronic braindead article. I must confess that I only read the first two lines to conclude this. I have no spare brain cycles to waste on the rest of the tosh. So, it is wenger’s fault that cesc is homesick and wants to return to barca. It is also wenger’s fault that we suffered the injuries that denied us trophies and perhaps ended Cesc’s patience in hanging around. And most significantly, we should take away Wenger’s responsibility of signing players, and perhaps get cesc (or cashley hole, or henry, or whomever thinks we are not spending enough) to handle transfers for us. Piss of, and go support CSKA fulham or man shitty .. those are more up your territory.

  28. ash says:

It has to be said any loyal arsenal fan must have had their faith in wenger dashed no trophies in 5 years and before you say trophies arent everything football clubs exist to win simple not play the best football or have the biggest profits , The faith must have also been dashed by the lack of signings by the lack of signings in recent seasons which would push the time across the line they seem to collapse in front of , Fans need to realise if fabregas leaves he wont have a class replacement and we will fall further behind the last 8 games shows that

  29. perrygrovesworld says:

Chamakh has signed; confirmed. Can’t say who told me but there is a swoosh! involved….

ok now down to business so Cesc goes… Are you old enough to remember Anelka, Overmars, Viera, Henry leaving; after each player left the media said we’d never recover. Each time we did, with no money due the stadium development we have held our position in the top 4. Selling players for massive profit is good business not bad business. So we have serious resources now. We buy Gourcuff who has played with Chamakh so already he has that part of the spine covered. We buy a central defender, a goalkeeper and suddenly we are back up to speed. Gourcuff is a DAMN good player if you saw him in the CL, another Cesc in the making. Exciting times believe me. I’d rather be supporting Arsene’s Arsenal than Rafa’s Liverpool right now… All good things come to an end and I bet Arsene saw all this coming ages before before the media look of surprise and has anticipated it. Watch this Space.

  30. Lars Jensen says:

I´m so sorry but I couldn´t agree more. Wenger has become harmless and arrogant. Rather pay mio. of £ on youth than fixing a team that could win a TROPHY. I´ll be gooner till i´ll die but this will be a boring life regarding footie. Bring back D. Dein and his fellow men. That might get things happen…

  31. bhiza says:

Enough people are making intelligent arguments that I am not going to comment on the article, BUT TO THE STUPID, STUPID IDIOT WHO cOMPARED WENGER TO MADOFF , I have been in this world for a long time and have never come across such stupidity in my life, there mentally challenged people who cant count to 2 who looked at that statement and thought you must be some new breed on idiot. To compare Wenger (sports personality) to Bernie Madoff, a guy who swindled countless families out of their life’s earnings and drove two people to suicide. If you think Arsenal not winning a trophy is similar to the worth of two lives, then I hope you and your family suffer the type of things these people went through so that you can gain some sort of perspective you STUPID SMALL BRAINED LITTLE MAN.

    • Arsene's Choreographic Muse says:

The comparison to Madoff is in the idea of a big swindle. And in that regard, the comparison between what Arsene and the Board are doing can aptly be compared as a swindle.

    • SUGA3 says:

er, remember the Arsenal fan who hung himself in Africa after we got shat on by Manure in the CL last season?

and who is at fault? you’ve guessed it…

and mate, do you go to the games? do you put your hard earned money where your mouth is?

  32. Bone says:

Some have said that the club just doesn’t have the funds to go out and buy the players needed. Is Wenger covering for his Board? I think the truth will out this summer.

    • Arsene's Choreographic Muse says:

The money is there. It always has been. The stadium move and the so-called “self-sustaining financial model” is a smokescreen. Sure, there were some times and seasons which required more conservative financial prudence than previous seasons and situations, but the board and Arsene have taken advantage of the stadium move and the so-called “self-sustaining financial model” to run the squad on the cheap when they simply didn’t have to. It’s always an on-going excuse to not purchase top players. They’d rather have the money in their coffers.
