Arsenal cant even hold a lead and kill a team off

So many times in recent years.

We take the lead, seem to be on our way to winning the game and then screw up.

We cant seem to kill the game off and we allow the other team a route back into the game by us sitting back rather then trying to score the killer goal.

We just cant defend, so why do we sit back? attack is the best form of defence.

But how many times have we been 1 or even 2 goals up and only to draw the game or lose.? I can name loads, Beating Chavski in the semi finals 1-0, Beating Liverpool 4-2 and drawing 4-4, Dito with Spurs, Being 2-0 up vs Brum. This season beating man utd 1-0 and losing 2-1.

And many many more.

It shows complacency and at times we show a lack of fight in the battle, Teams like West Ham, Hull, Stoke cant play better football then us of course but they all show more fight.

But yet Wenger bangs on about the mental strength, spirit and belief. Cant he see that this team has NO Leader and a lack of heart.

After West ham scored to make it 2-1 there was only one team that looked up for the game, We didnt look up for the battle at all.

We need winners in our team like Keown and Adams, With Players like Song, Diaby, Eboue and Mannone in our side we are never going to win anything.

Wenger cant see that we need winners in our team. Maybe not the most gifted players but the type that would take a boot in the head for the team.

We have a team of primadonna’s who think they just have to turn up, put the kit on, and they think they’ve got a divine right to win the game.

When the going gets tough, The tough aint at Arsenal

[RATINGS] Arsenal throw it away – AGAIN!

Gallas makes it 2-0

West Ham 2-2 Arsenal

Déjà vu?

2-0 at half time and the game is won right? Win this and we are only 1 pts behind Man Utd with a game in hand.
But yet again we throw it away, 2nd time in a week, Late goals and yet again we failed to kill the game off.

I would say we were unlucky today but how many times has this happened? 2 many….

I really cant wait for Nasri to come back and replace Diaby.

Samir Nasri is only a few days away from a first team return and i cant wait. The French international played 60 minutes for the Reserves on Tuesday night as part of his comeback.

Abou Diaby has been filling in for Nasri in recent weeks and has done “OK” but you never know what Diaby is going to turn up? One week he looks like a world class player, Big strong, hard to knock off the ball. And the next hell looks like Carlton Palmer with the ball glued to his boots.

Diaby can be fantastic one week and a nightmare the next.

Thats why I’m so happy to have Nasri back in the midfield and i feel this new 4-3-3 will work a dream with Song holding and Cesc and Nasri pulling the strings.

When Nasri returns he will be like a new signing for us and give the whole team a boost and i hope to the glory of winning the title.

Bienvenue de retour Samir Nasri

[TEAM NEWS] Mannone STARTS ahead of Almunia again

Vito Mannone has  again been given the number 1 over Manuel Almunia, who remains on the substitutes bench.

SO is Mannone our new number 1? Almunia is clearly not regarded as first-choice, and is being deliberately sidelined by the manager.  In the mean-time, Mannone is probably only keeping the gloves warm until the return of Lukasz Fabianski, who will be fit in the next couple of weeks.

CONFIRMED TEAMS

Arsenal: Mannone, Sagna, Gallas, Vermaelen, Clichy, Song, Diaby, Fabregas, Eboue, Arshavin, van Persie.

Subs: Almunia, Silvestre, Gibbs, Merida, Ramsey, Wilshere, Vela.

Alkmaar: Romero, Jaliens, Moreno, da Silva, Schaars, El Hamdaoui, Martens, Poulsen, Dembele, Moisander, Holman.

Subs: Didulica, Lens, Klavan, Wernbloom, van der Velden, Swerts, Pelle.

Gazidis warns Wenger “Its time to win a trophy”

Well said Ivan Gazidis, You speak on behalf of all the fans

Manager Arsene Wenger has been warned that it is time his Arsenal team started to win a trophy by club chief executive Ivan Gazidis.

Arsenal  have not won any silverware since 2005, and there is a burgeoning feeling amongst the club’s hierarchy that things must change quickly.

“It’s absolutely our ambition to win a trophy this year. I couldn’t be more clear on that,” Gazidis told the Daily Star Sunday.

“Second, third or fourth isn’t good enough. We want to win something this season and we believe we have the squad to do that.”

Gazidis acknowledges that Wenger has built a fine young side that plays beautiful football, but insisted it is time for the youngsters to deliver.

“We have created and developed a team playing fantastic football. It’s wonderful to watch and very exciting at times,” he added.

“We’ve spoken about the group’s potential. Now, and by now I mean this season, it’s very important for us to focus strongly on winning something for the fans. They deserve it.

“We can talk about football as a business but, fundamentally, this club exists for the fans and they don’t care about financial reports, they care about what happens on the pitch.”

[Video] Arda Turan wants a move to Arsenal

Arda Turan is a natural winger we have not had since Pires, Great news coming from his agent that Arda would welcome a move to Arsenal and work under Wenger, The agent also confirmed that we (Arsenal ) have made contact with him. Lets hope something happens. Arda is a real star and under wenger can become one of the best players in world football…

Galatasaray winger Arda Turan is interested in joining Arsenal next summer. The 22-year-old winger, who has 34 caps for his country, was linked with the Gunners and Premier League rivals Liverpool last January, however the Turkish sensation is desperate to work under Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.

The player’s agent Ahmet Bulut spoke exclusively to Sport.co.uk Editor Nigel Brown:

“At this moment in time I have no contact with any clubs. I had a lot of interest in the summer for him, but the club did not want to sell him, even for £50 or a £100 million. Arda is the best player in Turkey at the moment. He is now the new captain of Galatasaray and the club has new elections for President in March, so I don’t think he will be sold in January. However, I do think he will be sold in July. I think they will sell him in the summer.

“There are lots of big European clubs interested in him. In the summertime Arsenal made contact regarding him, but the club did not want to sell. We also had offers from Spain, Italy and Germany.”

When asked if he thought Arsene Wenger would rekindle his interest in the player, Bulut replied:

“I hope so. He is interested in working under Arsene Wenger because he is very good at working with young players, and Arda wants to work in England. As I said there was interest from other clubs around Europe but his first choice is England.

“Arsenal are interested, and if they want him, Arda’s first choice is Arsenal.”

When everybody is fit we have a brilliant squad

For all the grief Arsene is getting about his lack of spending this summer, Some fans should remember that players such as Diaby and Eboue are only filling in for injured players.

They are squad players. And they are pretty good at it.

Diaby needs to progress as a player, but on the whole, Arsene has assembled a brilliant squad. Also remember that Diaby is also just filling in for Nasri.

How good is this team going to be when Nasri comes back in place of Diaby?

Rosicky is proving again why he is a World Class player. And now Theo is back and with Vela & Ramsey looks the part. The future is bright.

When everybody is fit we have a brilliant squad, but we barely ever have EVERYONE fit,if we get a injury to Cesc or Gallas are there replacements ie Silvestre good enough?

If Everyone is fit, 1-11 we have a great attacking side and have a great chance of winning the title.

Lets hope that we can keep our key players fit.

Wenger needs to stop playing Eduardo and Bendnter as wingers

This was posted on our forum (HERE)

Over the years wenger has found new positions for players and converted them into different areas. Like petit, signed as a centre half and wenger made a defensive ball winner.

Lauren was signed as a centre mid and Wenger converted him into a right back, Henry signed as a winger and wenger made him the best striker in the world.

But having said that wenger has recently got it wrong with some players.. I cant understand why he keeps playing Eduardo and Bendtner on the flanks?.

Wenger also did this with Wiltord who we signed as was given the title of the new ian wright..Wiltord like Eduardo was a very good finisher, but wenger played him on the wings and was wasted..I can see the same thing happending with Eduardo.

I ask you this, would you play robbie flowler, Owen, or Defoe, or even Ian wright on the wing?

These players are box finishers, you cant ask them to play on the wing, its the same with Bendnter, he is a target man and asking a big 6 ft plus player who is a beast in the air to play on the wing is just wrong.

Fundamentally Wenger needs to finally put a stop to this utter nonsense of playing good players in alien positions.

I also remember seeing Diaby play on the left wing and Nasri as our ball winner, Baptista on the wing.

Eboue is a half decent fullback, he can play at right midfield if we are desperate but shouldn’t be expected to play anywhere else on the pitch as he in not capable of doing so.

For Wenger to now continue this and not even play Bendnter as the central striker in any of this seasons games is just crazy! Bendtner just isnt a winger and the same for Eduardo.

Just because the likes of Petit and Lauren had the intelligence to adapt and excell in new roles, doesnt mean that every player will.

Diaby,Eboue,Bendtner,Eduardo will never be wingers. End of..is Arshavin a winger?.

Arsene has to stop trying to make wingers our of the players who cant get into the team.

Play your best players in their best and you will get the best out of them.
