What takes Arsenal SO LONG to sign a player?..

Why is it that Arsenal seem to take an eternity to complete a transfer for a new player?

Every summer we seem to have a long transfer saga that’s drags on for weeks and is played out in the press?

First it was Hatem Trabelsi,& then Baptista and then it was Nasri and of course who could forget the on/off comedy of the Arshavin transfer?

Now we have the Chamakh deal that has dragged on.

This seems to be “The Arsenal Way” but why? What takes Arsenal such a long time to clinch the deal?

I understand that there are a number of issues around a transfer and its not as easy was some of us think, But other teams don’t seem to have this problem? So whats the problem at Arsenal?…When we sell a player is seems to be done in a few days [Kolo Toure]

When was the last time Arsenal announced a new signing totally out of the blue? ….Reyes?

I’m not having a go at the club of the manager, was just looking for a few answers to why Arsenal take so long compared to other teams?….. I hate to think of the players we came close by didnt sign because we took so long? [Drogba, Cech, Ronaldo]…maybe more?

Did Wenger LIE to the Arsenal fans AGAIN?

A few weeks ago the Arsenal king of spin Arsene Wenger said that he wanted to bring in a frontman to cover a couple of key injuries.

At the time i said on the forum that Wenger was useing this to get the best out of Eduardo and was not going to sign a striker. Then Wenger came out and said “I want to buy as soon as possible” and” I will spend my money responsibly” I again said that this was bullshit and within the next few weeks Wenger would come out and say that the return of injuryed players would be like NEW signings..and not for the first time, He “DID”

Not the first time we have seen this from Wenger over the years. and not the first time he has lied to the fans and mugged us off.

Why come out with all this bollocks on Arsenal.com and get the fans hopes up about new signings only to let us down? I do wish Wenger would just keep his gob shut and stop coming out with all this crap.

Over the years he has said things like ” I will sign 2 world class players, ” The Arsenal fans will be reassured by the new signings” I will sign BIG players”…Etc etc etc.

And everytime we are let down.

And NOW Wenger who recently told the world that he was looking at Chris Smalling has missed out on yet another player. Why did he say anything about Smalling anyway? … by doing so he told other clubs who might have been looking at Smalling that we were looking at him and there might be a chance we could missed out on him.

And Man Utd showed Arsenal hows its done. In 2 days they had a bid accepted and the player signed.

Unlike Arsenal who seem to take 5/6 weeks to sign a player and get the deal done but trying to get him as cheap as possible. and run the risk of missing out, Just like we did with Alonso, and how we almost missed out on Arshavin.

Well… Yet again a transfer window has come and gone and Arsenal do nothing. Like i have said loads of times, Arsenal care about one thing and thats profit.

We are in a fantastic place to win the league and by investing some of that £30m from the sales of Adebayor and Toure on much needed replacements for Song and RVP we might have gone on and won the league.

Now I just fear that the next 4 games will put an end to that and our season.

But who cares, At the end of the day the club will be happy with the profit and the “in wenger we trust crew” will tell us that Wenger did a great job. But the sad fact is that this season we had a real chance of winning something for the first time since 2005 and all we needed was 2 players and our manager to spend some of that profit.But yet again Wenger has shown how stubborn he is… I just hope that come the end of THIS season you will all see what I see.

Arsenal care about one thing and thats not winning things, its about making money and Wenger is treating my club as his own project. This club is now a farm. We sign players with only one thing in mind, to sell them on for a profit.

Why? Dont we spend good money at Arsenal? Why dont we get the big signings like Torres etc?

Maybe thats why you are now seeing so many empty seats at Arsenal. People have had enough of this and i cant blame them.

4 days until the deadline. Wenger must spend if Arsenal want to win the title

With only 4 days until the transfer deadline, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has to decide NOW if he feels the squad is currently good enough to win the title.

Wenger has the money to spend on fresh players after the summer sales of Toure and Adebayor. But will he spend it?

Its been a great start to the season and after hinting all summer that he would sign new 1/2 new players the time has come for Wenger to show his hand in the transfer market.

Wenger has recently ruled out moves for summer targets Chamakh, Hangeland & Matuidi so does that mean that Wenger is happy with the current squad and wont sign any new players? I think so!

Personally i feel we still need 2 players. A CB and a CM, My reasons for this is clear, If Gallas gets injured i dont think the likes for Silvestre & Djourou are good enough to deal with the likes of Drogba so we need a powerful CB.

As for a CM, Alex Song has had a great start to the season but who else in the team can cover that defensive role? lets remember that he will be off to the Africans cup as well, So we must sign a ball winner in midfield. I still feel we need that Flamini type ball winner in the middle of the park at Arsenal and i have hoped that Wenger would address this position this summer.

Like i said its been a great start to the season but lets not forget that we got off to a wonderful start 2 seasons ago and were top at xmas only to fad away and finish 4th. That’s why i feel we MUST strengthen before the deadline and build on this start and push on towards the title

Wenger is stubborn and is 2 tight for his own good. He has had loads of time to find a DM and still we wait. He has had loads of time to find a powerful CB and still we wait. He knew all summer that Adebayor would be sold. AND STILL WE WAIT!

The problem with Wenger is he wants everything on the cheap. Why go shopping at Harrods if you don’t have the money in your pocket to spend? You might as well stick to Primark if your a cheapskate. But WE HAVE the money and still he refuses to spend it? WHY?

You say he is looking after the clubs interests? But he signs and sells the players. How is he looking after the clubs interests when we have not won anything since 2005? He is looking at the financial side more then the winning of prizes side.

The man has over £30m in his pocket but yet he is still counting the pennies and trying to get players on the cheap. Last summer he had the chance of signing Barry or Alonso and he missed out just because he didn’t want to pay the extra few million.

Well “he who waits will miss out”

Wenger is toothless in the transfer market, You compare him to Arthur Daley, I think he is more like a homeless bum looking into the bins and begging on the streets for some spare change. Every summer its the same crap for us gooners. We are loyal fans, We are patients fans. Its time Wenger respected us more. This summer its the same shite, Wenger makes a joke of a bid to sign Melo and again we miss out…sounds familier?

As i have said before Wenger is lucky to have us. Since 2005 he has won nothing and still some fans think he is the best thing since sliced bread.

If Mr Wenger was at Real Madrid he would have been sacked a long time ago. Wenger has failed and let us down time and time again in the transfer market. We cant keep going on like this, David Dein was 100% when he said Arsenal are stone aged. Look at the Liverpool manager, He sells Alonso 48hrs later he has agreed a deal to bring in a replacement. Wenger lost Flamini more then a year ago and still we wait….That’s the difference in managers. Some managers have bottle and some are weeds.

I think wenger is a cleaver man, He cant lose…If Arsenal finish 4th he wins, Champions league football more money in the bank and all done on penny’s. People think he has done well. And this is why he never spends money….Why should he? If he was to spend £30m on a player and we finished outside the top 4 people would question his judgement and say ” He wasted money on players and we won nothing” Well people cant say that about Wenger coz he has not got the bollocks to do so…

He would rather play it safe and keep finishing 4th every season and reach the champions league. Wenger cant lose, If he wins nothing the fans still love him, If he sells our best players and never replaces them the fans still love him..What a bunch of Muppet’s you are..

Its time we told Wenger that HE HAS TO SPEND. 4th place is not good enough for us anymore….In fact i don’t even think we are going to finish 4th this summer. And then what? Well Wenger still knows RIGHT?

Wenger is like Arthur Daley in the transfer market!

When it comes to sniffing out a cheap deal of 2 there ain’t many better then the Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.

Wenger is extremely cleaver when it comes to getting a player at the right price and haggling over a deal, I can see Wenger now..”You want £100 pounds? Ill give you £50 take if of leave it, whats that give me £75 and you have a deal? Bollocks £55 or im walking away! Ok SOLD”

He is the type of bloke you would want standing next to you when you go and buy a 2nd hand car thats for sure..In some ways he reminds me of Arthur Daley from the ITV show Minder.

I have no doubt that Wenger is working hard as we speak and trying to get the best deals for the club, Why should he go out and spend more then he feels the players is worth? Wenger has never done so on any player and you have to respect the way he does business.

Some might say that Wenger is maybe “too tight”and we might have missed out on a few players ( Alonso) in the past as wenger stuck to his guns and didn’t pay over the odds or what he felt the player was worth. But credit to Wenger, he has the clubs interests at heart and treats the clubs money as if its his own. What other managers in world football can say the same?  Most people in the business are snakes and go and move clubs for more money. Wenger has beeen loyal to Arsenal and we have to respect that and be as loyal back to him.

Some managers like Harry Redknapp need a golden pot of cash to be able to try and achieve success. With Wenger he has keep Arsenal in the top 4 for a number of years on a tight budget. Where other clubs do there shopping at Harrods Wenger has had to go to primark.

Now Wenger finally has some cash, he is taking his time and making sure he is not blowing it for the sake of just spending.

I know and understand that as fans we want signings now but we have to be patient, Good things come to those who wait, and we have the best wheeler and dealer in the game.
