What a shame!! Adebayor gets off to a horrible start and misses a sitter as Man City lose 1-0…Thank you for the £25m for Adecanthitabarndoor

NEW signing Emmanuel Adebayor made a miserable debut for moneybags Manchester City as they slumped to defeat against Kaizer Chiefs in Pretoria.

More than 30,000 fans turned up at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium, but were let down by a below-par City, who ended their tour of South Africa on a low — they lost two and won one match in the Vodacom Challenge tournament.

Jeffrey Ntuka’s effort four minutes before half-time proved the difference between the two sides.

Former Arsenal striker Adebayor, one of City’s biggest summer signings at £25milliion, was handed a first start by boss Mark Hughes, while another new boy, £12m Gareth Barry also played alongside the likes of Shay Given, Nigel de Jong, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Craig Bellamy.

After a quiet start Martin Petrov and Adebayor both were on the wrong end of clattering challenges during the opening 15 minutes, but survived to play on.

But there was bad news about City skipper Richard Dunne who went off just before half time with a knee injury.

Given was forced to make the first real save on 41 minutes when Nkosinathi Nhleko’s shot caused the Republic of Ireland international to dive low to his left and tip the ball wide.

The resulting George Lebese corner caused panic in the penalty area and Ntuka drove the ball home from close-range to hand his side the winner.

City kept the same players on after the restart with Adebayor’s timely run 10 minutes in almost paying dividends, but, after seeing his initial cross-goal pass come back into his path, the Togo striker blazed over when he should have hit the target

So the £25m had nothing to do with it right Arsene? Good to see the fans are now getting the blame for this?

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has hinted that the club’s fans are to blame for striker Emmanuel Adebayor leaving north London.

The Togo international swapped the Emirates for Eastlands yesterday, signing a five-year deal at the club and following Carlos Tevez, Roque Santa Cruz and Gareth Barry to Manchester City.

However, speaking to the Mail on Sunday, Wenger wished the striker well in his future career but blamed a lack of fan support for his exit.

“We have lost a great player and we wish him well,” said the Gunners boss.

“He’s done extremely well for the club. I don’t believe that last season he got enough support. That was playing a part in my mind and in his mind, certainly, as well.”

The Arsenal boss went on to say he felt the lack of support, which stemmed from last summer’s perceived flirtations with AC Milan and Barcelona, affected Adebayor’s confidence.

“I believe he wanted to do well but he didn’t find the confidence he had the season before,” added Wenger.

“There was a little resentment you could feel through last summer.”

Despite having lost the 25-year-old, Wenger insisted the Gunners could cope and would continue to compete for the game’s top prizes.

“Believe me, he’s a great player and he’ll show that again at Manchester City,” he admitted.

“Big clubs lose big players. Milan have lost Kaka and Milan will go on. Arsenal have always lost players and continued at the top level.”

I was hoping that this sack of shit was going to be sold today, But it Sound like the deal might be off… Greedy prick, And apparently Man City are now turning to David Trezeguet.

Manchester City are furious with Emmanuel Adebayor after the Arsenal  striker’s advisers attempted to engineer a move to Chelsea on Friday night.

Sportsmail revealed earlier this week that Adebayor was offered to neighbours Manchester United when talks with City over personal terms of £170,000 a week looked to be in danger of collapse.

There were indications yesterday that he was finally ready to agree a move to City and head up to Manchester for a medical. But the club were amazed to discover that the Togo forward has been touted to Chelsea as he continues to stall on a £25million move to Eastlands.

Adebayor even met Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger yesterday over the possibility of staying at the Emirates for another season, but the Gunners are adamant they do not want him back and are keen to honour the deal agreed with City

GREAT NEWS!!!

Apparently Adebyewhore is tomorrow having a meeting to determine whether the player can be awarded a work permit.

Mark Hughes has today confirmed to reporters that Man City were in discussions with Arsenal over a move for the Togolese, with reports yesterday suggesting that a bid of £22million had been prepared, with the Eastlands outfit prepared to offer the player £170,000 a week in wages – double what he is reported to earn at Arsenal.

What can i say? I have never been his biggest fan and people on the forum will tell you that i wanted him sold last summer.

When Adebayor is sold i dont feel we need to go out and sign a striker, we have more then enuff cover and maybe now we can see Arshavin playing in the middle behind RVP?

I just hope that Wenger spends the reported £22m on a much needed DM partner for Cesc…

Ade bye whore

Ade bye whore

They all ready have Robinho, Bellamy, Bojinov,Caicedo…. Benjani and Santa Cruz and they want both Tevez and Adebayor?

Why do they want Santa Cruz and Adebayor?

And according to Skysports they are willing to give Adebayor a 5 year contract worth £170.000 a week!

I think they have now reached Gone Berserk level 4.

Personaly i cant wait to see the back of Adebayor for a reported £22m, Not as much as we wanted but its better then nothing and keeping a player on huge wages at the club who is cleary not happy and wants out.

Maybe Wenger is looking at a few City players as part of the deal?

Who knows? One thing im sure of is that Arsenal need the cash from the sale of adebayor to fund our summer signings. We still need that much needed DM player to partner Cesc next season. Lets hope its Miguel Veloso.

As far as a future replacement for Adebayor, I really dont see the need to buy a forward as we have RVP, Arshavin,Benthner, Eduardo,Vela and Walcott. The area we need is in the middle of the park and the ball winner we have missed since flamini.

lets rewind to last summer.

Arsenal had the chance of cashing in on one season wonder Adebayor, but Wenger didn’t want to sell him. Not even for £30m.

AC Milan wanted him and were offering BIG money. I at the time said “TAKE THE MONEY”

This summer Arsenal are doing everything they can to get ride of Adebayor but they cant find a buyer.

From my source at the club i can confirm that Arsenal want to sell Adebayor this summer and would accept a bid of around £20m for him. But we have not received a single offer for him. It was hoped that Adebayor will be sold in order to free up some cash for new summer recruits and to lower the wage bill at Arsenal but it seems like clubs AC Milan and co no longer want Adebayor.

So whats chance from last summer? Why didnt we sell him for £30m and why did we give him a new contract reportedly on over £100k a week?

Its simply, MORE bad judgment by the manager. Add this to the fact he sold Flamini,Diarra and Gilberto and is STILL yet to replace them with a DM at the club. The fact he signed Silverstre on a 2 year deal. The fact he plays this negative 4-5-1 week in week out. The fact he is playing Nasri as a DM and Diaby as a winger.

I think you can clearly say that Wenger has lost the plot.

How can we trust this man as our manager? With money so tight at the club we cant afford to blow what money we do have on shite like Adebayor. We should of sold him last summer. A huge error by Wenger and now we are paying the price. We are going to be lucky to get £12m for Adebayor.

If he stays he is just going to be moody so we might as well get whatever we can on this lanky streak of piss.

Its going to be a shit season again unless we start to sign some players SOON.

According to the Mirror AC Milan are ready to offer £20million cash plus Mathieu Flamini for Emmanuel Adebayor.

Manager Arsene Wenger wants to resolve Adebayor’s future at the Emirates before launching his own summer recruitment spree. Milan and neighbours Inter are both keen to sign the 25 year-old striker.

AC hope offering Flamini a return to the Gunners will help clinch a deal. He left Arsenal last summer as a free agent but Wenger may not be keen to inherit his Milan wages.

I would bite there hand off. £20m PLUS a player who we badly missed would be a great deal. Its now clear to me that Arsenal are doing what they can to put Adebayor in the window and the club or fans no longer want him. Personally I cant wait to see that back of him.

Getting Flamini back as part of the deal would kill 2 birds with one stone. Lets hope this works out.

According to ROB SHEPHERD at the NOTW Arsenal will fund a £30m move for Karim Benzema this summer by cashing in on Adebayor. I would be more then happy with seeing the back of Adebayor and replacing him with Benzema. Have to say I cant see Arsenal spending £30m on a single player? But lets see.

ARSENAL are ready to hijack the Manchester United move for France striker Karim Benzema.

The Gunners board will be prepared to fund a £30million fee for Lyon’s Benzema, 21, if Arsene Wenger opts to cash in on Emmanuel Adebayor.

AC Milan have been considering making a new move for Adebayor this week. Togo ace Adebayor, 25, has also been linked with a move to Inter Milan and even Chelsea.

United are in pole position to lure Benzema – but he is also on Real Madrid’s radar. The player says he would prefer another season at Lyon to make sure he cements a place in the France side for the World Cup. But the club’s owners have hinted that a bid of more than £30m would turn their heads.

Gunners chief Wenger has been a long-term fan of Benzema. There were suggestions last summer he had a verbal deal with Lyon offering him first refusal.

On the face of it, £30m would seem out of Arsenal’s range. But the Arsenal board have approved up to £40m on new signings this summer and the sale of Adebayor would boost the transfer pot.

Wenger hopes to sign Brazil midfield ace Felipe Melo, 26, from Fiorentina. But the Serie A club may want £25m with Arsenal valuing him at £15m.
